Wenger To Make 3 Changes: Predicted Arsenal XI To Face Hull

Arsenal will look to get their season back on track when we welcome Hull City to the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime.

Here is the side Gooner Mac thinks Arsene Wenger will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech has come under fresh scrutiny following his disappointing display against former club Chelsea last weekend but Wenger isn’t the sort of manager to give up on his No.1 easily so I think we’ll see the Czech star keep his place ahead of David Ospina on Saturday.

Defence: Hector Bellerin will be assessed tomorrow after missing training this week following his head injury against Chelsea. The FA suggest players don’t feature for up to 14 days following concussion so I think the club might give Bellerin more time to recover with Gabriel starting at right-back.

Otherwise, the boss will probably stick with the same defence that started at Stamford Bridge but he’ll be looking for improved performances from the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal.

Midfield: Mohamed Elneny is back in contention after returning from the African Cup of Nations and I think we’ll see him come straight back in to the side.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has done fairly well in the middle of the park but we might see him moved back out to the wing as Wenger seems to favour Francis Coquelin this season. I’d personally rather we left the Frenchman out and went with The Ox next to Elneny but I expect to see Coqulein given the nod once again this weekend.

Aaron Ramsey continues to nurse a calf strain, Granit Xhaka serves the final of his four game suspension while Santi Cazorla is still no closer to recovering from his Achilles injury.

Attack: I was surprised to see Danny Welbeck named on the bench at Stamford Bridge last weekend having been left out of the squad entirely against Watford four days earlier.

The England international made a decent impact off the bench and I hope we see him restored up front against Hull with Olivier Giroud continuing on the bench despite scoring against Chelsea.

Mesut Ozil will be looking to get back to his best after a drop in form lately but there’s virtually no chance Arsene will leave him out and the same can be said for Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean has cut a frustrated figure of late so let’s hope he rediscovers his form this weekend.

Theo Walcott was virtually anonymous at Stamford Bridge so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him drop out with Oxlade-Chamberlain starting from the wing. Alex Iwobi may also find himself back among the substitutes while Lucas Perez will be hoping to return from a knock.

Here is how I think we’ll see Arsenal line-up:
