Arsenal have been handed a major triple injury boost with the news that Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny and Alex Iwobi are expected to be fit to face Liverpool next weekend.

Ozil has been suffering a dip in form lately but the Express claim that it could be down to the fact the German international has been carrying a back injury in recent weeks.

It’s reported that Ozil has been complaining of back spasms for some time and has now been granted permission to have a mini-break in the hope that some rest will help ease the problem.

The 28-year-old has flown back to Germany to spend some time with his family, however, the Express say the playmaker will be back in training ahead of the Liverpool game and will be available for the trip to Anfield on March 4th.

Obviously the news of a back injury will be a concern for the Gunners as Ozil is one of their best players, despite his questionable form lately, so I’m sure Arsene Wenger will be relieved it’s nothing serious.

In a further boost for the north Londoners, the Evening Standard are reporting that Koscielny is also expected to shake off a minor injury and be available to face Liverpool next weekend.

Koscielny limped out of Arsenal’s 5-1 thrashing by Bayern Munich with a thigh injury shortly after half time but the problem isn’t thought to be serious and the centre-back is due to return to training later this week.

ALEX-IWOBI-ARSENAL

Iwobi picked up an ankle knock during the Gunners 2-0 win at Sutton United on Monday and posted a photo on social media of his foot heavily bandaged after being caught by a tackle from Jamie Collins.

However, the Evening Standard claim there is no lasting damage and Iwobi will join the rest of the first team in returning to full training on Thursday ahead of next weekend’s trip to Liverpool.

Arsenal don’t have a game this weekend after their clash with Southampton was postponed so the players will have 11 days to prepare for the trip to Anfield on March 4th and having Koscielny and Iwobi available will come as a huge boost.

There was also some positive news regarding the fitness of Aaron Ramsey as the Evening Standard say that the midfielder could be back in action at the start of next month.

Ramsey has been out with a hamstring injury for the past three weeks but he could be back to face Bayern Munich or Lincoln City if he isn’t passed fit to take on Liverpool.
