By on February 26, 2017

Harry Kane scored a hat-trick as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Stoke City 4-0 at White Hart Lane this afternoon to go second in the Premier League table.

Spurs got off to the perfect start as Kane fired home in the 14th minute following some poor defending from the visitors before lashing home a superb first-time effort form the edge of the box to make it 2-0 in the 31st minute.

The Tottenham No.10 then completed his treble just minutes later and there was a stroke of luck about the goal as his long-range strike deflected off the Stoke wall to wrong-foot the keeper.

Spurs wrapped up a comfortable victory in first half stoppage time and this time Kane turned provider as he set-up Dele Alli to make it 4-0 with a simple finish.

The win sees Tottenham climb above Manchester City in to second spot in the table and close the gap on leaders Chelsea to ten points.
