Chelsea have been handed a kind draw in the FA Cup 5th round with a home tie against Championship side Cardiff. The current FA Cup holders will play the 2008 runners up at Stamford Bridge on the 13/14th February. Possibly the tie of the round will take place on the south coast where Southampton take on fierce rivals Portsmouth.

Full 5th round Draw:

Wolves/Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Manchester City v Stoke
Derby v Birmingham
Bolton v Spurs/Leeds
Chelsea v Cardiff
Fulham v Notts County/Wigan
Reading v West Brom
Southampton v Portsmouth

This year’s FA Cup is wide open after Arsenal crashed out to Stoke, meaning three of the big four have now exited  the competition after Manchester United and Liverpool lost out to lower league opposition. But Chelsea are definitely the team to beat and with a home tie against a lower division side they will be strong favourites to make it to the Quarter-finals.

Good job the Blues have managed to avoid the ‘giant killers’ like Leeds and Reading…
What price one of those 2 reaching the final?
Although I’m sure they’d both prefer a good run of league results instead!
