French Expert Tips Prolific £50m Hitman To Join Arsenal, Liverpool Or Spurs
The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Alexandre Lacazette is tipped to move to England this summer….
French football expert Julien Laurens has tipped Lyon’s £50m-rated striker Alexandre Lacazette to join Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.
Lacazette has continued to forge a reputation as one of the most prolific strikers in European football this season and took his tally to 27 goals in 31 appearances with a strike during Lyon’s 5-0 win over Metz on Sunday.
The French international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and was tipped to make a switch to England last summer before eventually signing a new contract at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
However, Lacazette was quoted in the Mirror as saying earlier this month that he will leave Lyon for a new challenge this summer and French expert Julien Laurens has now predicted the striker will finally head to England.
The Mirror reported last week that Liverpool had joined Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign the 25-year-old and Laurens named the trio as the most likely destinations for Lacazette but he wasn’t sure who would win the race for the striker.
But the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs better be prepared to dig deep as the French football expert also suggested that Lyon would want up to £50 for the striker’s signature.
Laurens is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
“I think he [Lacazette] will go to England,”
“Whether that is Liverpool, Arsenal or Tottenham – I don’t know. You will have to pay around £40m or £50m.”
Arsenal could be in the market for a top marksman this summer if they are forced to cash-in on Alexis Sanchez – who’s contract will enter it’s final year in June – and I think Lacazette would fit in well at the Emirates.
Jugen Klopp is also likely to be after a new hitman with Daniel Sturridge expected to leave Anfield following a frustrating season and Lacazette would offer a new dimension to the Liverpool attack if he was to head to Anfield this summer.
However, I wouldn’t discount Tottenham from the race either as Mauricio Pochettino desperately needs to find a striker to ease the burden on Harry Kane and it appears the Spurs boss is also keeping a close eye on Lacazette’s situation.
It’s certainly going to be see how things develop over the coming months but I think Lacazette would be an excellent signing if any of the trio were able to lure him to the Premier League at the end of the season.
