Liverpool came from behind to secure a vital 2-1 victory over Burnley at Anfield this evening to cement their position in the top four of the Premier League.

It was a poor start from the hosts as Burnley began brightly and deservedly broke the deadlock in the seventh minutes from Ashley Barnes converted from a superb Matt Lowton cross.

However, Liverpool grabbed a vital equaliser just before half time as Gini Wijnaldum was on hand to fire home from close range to make it 1-1 in the the 45th minute.

Jurgen Klopp’s side pushed for the winner after the break and Erme Can was the hero as the German midfielder fired home a low drive in to the bottom corner from 25 yards in the 61st minute.

Burnley couldn’t find another goal so Liverpool secure a huge win that sees them move five points clear of Arsenal in fourth place and to within just one point of second-placed Tottenham.
