Guardiola To Make 3 Changes: Predicted Man City XI vs Liverpool
Manchester City will be looking to put their Champions League heartache behind them when they entertain Liverpool at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.
Here is the side we think Pep Guardiola will select for the game:
Goalkeeper: Claudio Bravo was left on the bench in midweek but I think we might see him recalled to the starting eleven with Willy Caballero dropping out after conceding three times against Monaco on Wednesday night.
Defence: John Stones had a night to forget in midweek but I think the young Englishman will keep his place while Nicolas Otamendi could come back in to the side with Alexandre Kolarov making way.
Pablo Zabaleta is also pushing for a recall after being left out against Monaco and the Argentinean could replace Bacary Sagna at right-back but Gael Clichy should keep his place at left-back.
Vincent Kompany wasn’t deemed fit enough to be involved in the Champions League so it remains to be seen whether he’ll be available for selection this weekend.
Midfield: Yaya Toure was dropped against Monaco and I don’t think Guardiola will be inclined to recall the Ivory Coast international after his agent sparked rumours the midfielder will leave the club this summer.
Therefore, I expect to see Fernandinho occupying the holding role in front of the back four against Liverpool on Sunday.
Attack: I can’t see many changes being made to the attack as Gabriel Jesus remains unavailable due to injury so Sergio Ageuro will lead the line up front once again.
Jesus Navas is pushing for a recall but I think Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane will keep their places out on the wings with David Silva and Kevin De Buyne occupying the central roles.
Here is how I think we’ll see City line-up:
