Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool join the chase to sign Michael Keane….

Liverpool are ready to battle-it-out with Chelsea and Everton over the signing of Burnley’s £28m-rated defender Michael Keane this summer, according to a report in the Sun.

Keane began his career at Manchester United after joining the club as a teenager but after coming through their youth system he struggled to force his way in to the first team set-up.

The centre-back spent time out on loan at a number of club before eventually sealing a permanent move to Burnley in 2015 and he’s developed in to one of the most promising young English centre-backs in the country during his time at Turf Moor.

The 24-year-old has been excellent at the heart of Burnley’s defence this season and he’s in contention to make his senior debut for England after being named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for tomorrow’s friendly with Germany.

Understandably, Keane has caught the eye of several clubs with the Sun claiming that Liverpool have now joined Chelsea and Everton in the chase to sign the defender this summer.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is expected to bring in another central defender to replace John Terry and Keane is one of several players to be linked with a move to the champions-elect.

The Sun report says that Everton are also hopeful they can secure a £28m deal for Keane after Ronald Koeman made him his number one summer transfer target.

However, it looks as though they’ll now face even more competition as the newspaper indicates that Jurgen Klopp has added Keane to his list of targets as he looks to strengthen his defence this summer.

Liverpool have the worst defensive record of the top seven this season so it’s no wonder Klopp is in the market for a centre-back and it appears he’s now contemplating a swoop for Keane.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but it’s going to be extremely difficult for Burnley to keep hold of the defender this summer with three of England’s biggest clubs vying for his signature.
