Manchester City will be looking to cement their position in the top four when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Pep Guardiola has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.

The Citizens boss was please to confirm a triple injury boost with Pablo Zabaleta, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne all passed fit and available for selection for the trip to north London.

Zabaleta was forced to miss Argentina’s recent World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia due to a thigh injury but the right-back has now been declared fit to face Arsenal.

De Bruyne sat out of Belgium’s games against Greece and Russia during the international break after suffering a groin injury but the attacker has also been passed fit to play this weekend.

Sterling suffered a slight back injury during England’s World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania but Guardiola has also confirmed that he’ll be in the squad against the Gunners on Sunday.

It means City’s only two injury absentees are Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan as the two players continue to nurse long-term injuries that could see them miss the rest of the season.

Guardiola is quoted as saying by mcfc.co.uk:

“Except Gabriel Jesus and Gundogan, the others are okay. Yeah, [Pablo] Zabaleta as well [as Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne is fit]. They are not top, top perfect but, yeah, they are fit.”

City head to the Emirates sitting third in the table and seven points clear of sixth-placed Arsenal so they’ll be looking to tighten their grip on the top four with a positive result in north London.
