Arsenal vs West Ham Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction

Arsenal take on West Ham at the Emirates this evening. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.

Arsenal will look to close in on the top four when they entertain West Ham at the Emirates Stadium this evening.

We stopped the rot with a 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Sunday with the players showing character to come from behind twice to secure a valuable draw against our top four rivals.

The result left us sixth in the table and seven points adrift of fourth-placed City with a game in hand but with Pep Guardiola’s side going to Chelsea tonight, we have an excellent opportunity to close the gap.

Arsene Wenger knows the pressure is on to get back to winning ways as we’ve won just one of our last six league games but I’m not expecting an easy night against West Ham, despite their own poor form.

Slaven Bilic’s men haven’t won any of their last six league outings – losing four – leaving them sitting 15th in the table and just six points from the drop zone so I think they’ll be fighting for their lives tonight.

Team News

We’ve been hit by yet another injury blow with the news that David Ospina is set to miss out with a back injury so with Petr Cech also sidelined, Emi Martinez is set to make his Premier League debut this season.

Aaron Ramsey is back in contention after recovering from a calf problem while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to be fit after missing the City game with a hamstring complaint.

Laurent Koscielny has been ruled out after suffering an Achilles injury at the weekend so Gabriel or Per Mertesacker will deputise alongside Shkodran Mustafi at the back but Lucas Perez remains out.

As for West Ham, they’ve been boosted by the return to fitness of Michail Antonio after the winger recovered from a hamstring injury while Diafra Sakho is also back in contention.

However, Aaron Cresswell has been ruled out for a few weeks so he joins Winston Reid, Angelo Ogbonna and Pedro Obiang on the sidelines.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Arsenal 2-1 West Ham: Both teams head in to the game in poor form so it’s difficult to know what kind of game we’re going to get. West Ham have a decent away record at the Emirates and won this fixture last season so we should know not to take them too lightly, especially with the dangerous Andy Carroll up front. However, we simply have to win this game to keep in touch with the top four and I’m backing Arsenal to edge it 2-1.
