By on April 16, 2017

Marcus Rashford starred as Manchester United dealt a blow to Chelsea’s hopes of reclaiming the Premier League title after running out 2-0 winners at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Jose Mourinho made four changes from the side that drew with Anderlecht with Zlatan Ibrahimovic among those to drop out but his replacement showed there is life after the Swedish hitman.

United started well and opened the scoring in the 7th minute as Rashford beat the offside trap to race clear and slot past Asmir Begovic for 1-0.

The hosts controlled proceedings and doubled their advantage shortly after half-time as Ander Herrera’s shot deflected off Kurt Zouma and past Begovic for 2-0 in the 49th minute.

There was no response from Chelsea so United eased to a 2-0 win which sees them climb up to fifth spot in the table and to within four points of Man City while Chelsea remain four points ahead of Tottenham at the top.
