Arsenal will play Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup next month after coming from behind to beat Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley this afternoon.

Both sides had decent penalty shouts during the first half as Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez went down under challenges while Raheem Sterling had a goal wrongly ruled out after the linesman adjudged the ball had gone out from a Leroy Sane cross.

City then broke the deadlock midway through the second half when Aaron Ramsey gifted Pep Guardiola’s side possession and a swift break led to Aguero racing clear to chip over Petr Cech – although the Arsenal keeper should have done better.

Arsenal levelled things up minuted later as Nacho Monreal crashed home a lovely right-footed volley at the far post following a superb cross from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 71st minute.

There were no further goals in the ninety minutes so it went to extra-time and Alexis Sanchez put Arsenal ahead for the first time in the game with a close range finish in the 101st minute.

City couldn’t find the equaliser to force penalties so Arsenal secured a 2-1 win which means they’ll take on London rivals Chelsea in the final next month.
