Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Andrea Belotti…

Manchester United are ready to steal a march on Arsenal and Chelsea by launching a £64m bid to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.

Belotti has become one of the hottest strikers in European football after scoring 27 goals in 34 appearances this season despite Torino languishing down in ninth position in the Serie A table.

The 23-year-old has understandably attracted plenty of interest with the Mirror claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and United are among the clubs who are keen to lure him to the Premier League this summer.

Arsene Wenger is expected to stay at the Emirates and oversee a huge squad overhaul that will include bringing in a new top class forward and Belotti is one of several names linked with a move to north London.

Chelsea are also in the market for a new hitman amid reports that Diego Costa is set for a big-money move to China at the end of the season and it appears Antonio Conte has earmarked Belotti as a potential replacement for the Brazilian-born striker.

However, the London duo may have some catching up to do as the Mirror are citing a report that originates from the Daily Mail that claims Man Utd have made the first move to securing the Italian international’s signature.

The report indicates United have been in talks with intermediary agents and made it clear they are ready to pay £64m to secure a deal for Belotti ahead of the summer window.

That offer would fall short of the £85m buyout clause that’s written in to the strikers contract that was penned last year and Torino have always maintained they won’t sell their star man for anything less.

Therefore, United may have to dig a little deeper if they want to sign Belotti this summer but he’d be a superb addition if they could get a deal agreed as he’d provide them with some much-needed fire-power up front.

Jose Mourinho is expected to sign two new forwards this summer with Zlatan Ibrahimovic ruled out for at least nine months with a knee ligament injury while Wayne Rooney is tipped to leave Old Trafford after falling out-of-favour.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but Belotti would be an excellent signing for any of the English clubs being linked and I’d love to see him plying his trade here in the Premier League next season.
