Arsenal & Liverpool Dealt Blow As £50m Target Wants To Join Man Utd

By on June 5, 2017

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Alexandre Lacazette is keen to join Man Utd….

Arsenal and Liverpool have been handed a major blow in their pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette as the £50m-rated Lyon hitman favours a move to Manchester United, according to L’Equipe via the Metro.

Lacazette enhanced his reputation as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers after scoring 37 goals in all competitions for Lyon last season and his form has led to interest from several clubs here in England.

The Express reported over the weekend that Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd are all keen to lure Lacazette to the Premier League after his proposed move to Atletico Madrid collapsed after their transfer ban appeal was rejected.

Arsene Wenger is in the market for a top class striker to spearhead his attack next season as the Arsenal boss looks to build a side capable of mounting a serious title challenge and the Frenchman is a long-term admirer of Lacazette.

The Express suggested that Liverpool had moved in to pole position to sign the 26-year-old after supposedly arranging to hold talks with his representatives this week about a move to Anfield.

However, it looks like both Arsenal and Liverpool could miss out as the Metro are citing a report coming from L’Equipe that claims Lacazette favours a move to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho needs to sign a world class striker this summer after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the United boss has seemingly turned his attention to Lacazette after Antoine Griezmann decided to stay at Altetico following the news about their transfer ban.

If L’Equipe’s report is accurate and the Lyon hitman wants to join United then it’s going to be difficult for the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool to derail things as the Manchester giants are unlikely to have any problem’s with the financial side of things.

The Metro suggest that Lyon want £50m for Lacazette’s signature and that sort of money won’t be a problem for a team with the financial resources of United while personal terms should also be a formality.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but if Lacazette is keen to join United and Mourinho wants him then a move is likely and I think the French international will prove to be an excellent addition at Old Trafford.

I think Lacazette would be a great addition to Manchester United. He’s fast, can assist and willing to provide defensive assistance. He is relatively young and at a good price. He can be the out and out striker or sit behind a goal poacher. Personally, I prefer him over Greizman although I also like Greizman a lot. It has been mentioned that while he has done well in the French league, he has not been as successful for France. However, he has not been given full games for france and has had to play behind Giroud and even Greizman. Pobga and Lacazette would be a lethal combination if paired together with a Rashford, Lukaku etc.

Why would any player join the most negative (16 draws) paranoid egomaniac ..any player who favours exciting passionate football should avoid old trafford like the plague. Utd claim to be loaded but the fact is their debt has risen every year for the last 6 ..it now stands at 550m
