Liverpool Hoping To Trump Arsenal & Man Utd After Holding Talks With £100m Striker

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool join the chase for Kylian Mbappe…

Liverpool are looking to beat the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United to the signing of Kylian Mbappe after holding talks with the agent of the £100m-rated Monaco striker, according to the Daily Mail.

Mbappe has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe after bursting on to the scene with 26 goals and 14 assists to help Monaco clinch the Ligue 1 title last season as well as reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The teenager has attracted interest from several top clubs including La Liga champions Real Madrid while Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs understood to be keen on luring him to the Premier League.

The Mirror carried a report from L’Equipe earlier this month that claimed Arsenal were ready to launch an improved offer after seeing their initial £87m bid rejected by Monaco after Arsene Wenger made Mbappe his prime striker target.

The Gunners boss is desperate to make a statement of intent in the transfer market after missing out on the top four and the Frenchman is hoping the promise of first team football will be enough to persuade Mbappe to head for the Emirates this summer.

Jose Mourinho is also in the market for a world class striker after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Metro reported last week that United had also launched a mega-bid to try land Mbappe.

However, it looks like the duo will now face even more competition as the Daily Mail are one of several media outlets reporting today that Liverpool have now thrown their hat in to the ring.

The newspaper says that Jurgen Klopp has held preliminary talks with the 18-year-old’s agent about a move to Anfield – which would cost the Merseysiders at least £100m.

Liverpool were linked with Mbappe last summer before his meteoric rise and it looks as though they’ve now renewed their interest as Klopp looks to build a squad capable of sustaining a title challenge and compete in the Champions League next season.

It’s going to be fascinating to see where Mbappe ends up if he does decide to leave Monaco this summer but I just hope we see him come to England as it would be exciting to see him plying his trade here in the Premier League.

Liverpool have NO CHANCE in signing Mbappe. I think he will be a Monoco player 2017/18. Then after that he transfer fee will be something Liverpool can’t handle. He will end up at Real Madrid, if anywhere. Dream on Liverpool.
