Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Victor Lindelof will undergo his Man Utd medical….

Victor Lindelof will undergo his Man Utd medical tomorrow ahead of his £30m move from Benfica as Jose Mourinho looks to sign two new players this week, according to the Express.

Lindelof has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past six months after starring for Benfica this season and Mourinho identified him as a prime transfer target.

United announced on ManUtd.com over the weekend that a deal had been agreed with Benfica and Lindelof was set to join the club subject to a medical and agreeing personal terms.

It seems one of those hurdles is about to be undertaken as the Express claim the 22-year-old is due at Carrington on Wednesday morning to complete his medical examinations.

Lindelof is playing for Sweden tonight in a friendly against Norway but the newspaper says he’ll fly to the UK tomorrow to complete a move that will see United pay an initial fee in the region of £30m.

As long as there are no late complications, Lindelof will become United’s first signing of the summer and is expected to form a rock solid partnership alongside Eric Bailly at the back next season.

However, Lindelof’s arrival will cast further doubt over the future of Chris Smalling as the England international is being tipped to leave after failing to win over Mourinho last year.

The Portuguese coach is gearing-up for a busy summer and the Express claim he’s also hoping to wrap-up his second signing of the window with the addition of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

The Spanish international has been tipped to leave the Bernabeu after failing to hold down a regular place and Marca reported earlier this week that Morata has been convinced to join United by Mourinho after they tabled a fresh £60m offer.

A final decision from the La Liga champions is expected soon and the Express suggest that United are hoping Morata will undergo his medical by the end of the week.

Mourinho is in the market for a top class striker after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Morata has emerged as his top target with a deal now looking like it could be concluded any day now.

I think Morata would be a superb addition for United as despite his lack of starts, he still managed to score 20 goals last season and the Reds could certainly do with that kind of threat in the final third.

Let’s see how things develop but it looks as though it’s going to be a busy few days at Carrington with two big-money new signings in the pipeline and it could be just the start for Mourinho this summer.
