Chelsea & Man Utd Hold Talks With Agent Of Unsettled 43-Goal Striker

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea and Man Utd are linked with Robert Lewandowski….

Chelsea and Manchester United have held talks with Robert Lewandowski’s agent about a potential move away from Bayern Munich this summer, according to football expert Guillem Balague.

Lewandowski is widely considered as one of the best all-round strikers in European football and enhanced that reputation after scoring 43 goals in all competitions to help Bayern win a fifth consecutive Bundesliga title last season.

However, the Polish international’s future at the Allianz Arena was thrown in to serious doubt after he hit-out at his team mates for not doing more to help him win the Golden Boot on the final day of the season.

Lewandowski’s agent Maik Barthel then stoked the fire further after claiming that the striker was bitterly disappointed after receiving no support from boss Carlo Ancelotti in his quest to become the league’s top scorer.

Barthel is quoted as saying by the Daily Star:

“Robert told me that he got no support and that the coach (Carlo Ancelotti) gave no call to help him win the top-scorer title in the last game.

“He was disappointed as I have ever seen him before.”

Understandably, these comments have led to speculation over a move away from Bayern this summer and it looks as though the 28-year-old could be offered the chance for a fresh start here in the Premier League.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has sensationally claimed on Twitter today that both Chelsea and Manchester United have held talks with Lewandowski’s agent about a potential move this summer.

Balague says that while the striker would favour a move to London, United are doing their best to lure him to Old Trafford and held negotiations with his agent just yesterday.

Balague tweeted:

“On Lewandowski: Player unhappy with Bayern. He feels Carlo/players didn’t support him enough (including race for best goal scorer).

“Lewandowski: Both Chelsea and MUFC have spoken to his agents. London preferred choice, but MUFC, very keen and last chat was yesterday.”

Antonio Conte is in the market for a top class striker after informing Diego Costa he isn’t in his plans for next season while Jose Mourinho also needs to sign a new frontman after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Obviously Lewandowski would be a superb addition for either club as he’s undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world but it remains to be seen whether Bayern will be prepared to cash-in this summer.

Lewandowski is under a long-term contract so the German giants are under no pressure to sell any time soon so the player would have to force a move if Bayern refuse to do business with the likes of Chelsea or United.
