Wenger Convinced He Can Secure Deal As Arsenal Prepare £118m+ Striker Bid

Arsene Wenger is convinced he can win the race to sign Kylian Mbappe as Arsenal prepare a sensational offer for the Monaco star worth in excess of £118m

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, more on Arsenal’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe….

Arsene Wenger is convinced he can win the race to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer as Arsenal prepare to table a sensational offer for the Monaco star worth in excess of £118m, according to Football London.

Mbappe is the hottest property in world football right now after enjoying a breakthrough campaign that saw him score 24 goals and provide 14 assists to help fire Monaco to the Ligue 1 title.

That form has attracted interest from a whole host of top European clubs with the current bookmaker betting offers making Real Madrid favourites for his signature while Goal reported yesterday that Paris Saint-Germain have tabled an offer worth £118.4m.

However, Arsenal have also been strongly linked with a move for Mbappe and despite the fierce competition, Football London claim that Wenger has grown increasingly confident over the past 48 hours that he can win the race to land the teen sensation.

The outlet suggests that Wenger is so convinced he’s done enough to lure Mbappe to the Emirates following talks with the player that Arsenal are set to submit a world record offer worth in excess of the £118m PSG have put on the table.

Monaco are keen for the 18-year-old to stay for at least one more year but Mbappe is expected to leave this summer and while the lure of Madrid will be difficult to resist, Football London say Arsenal believe the youngster feels a move to north London would be better at this stage of his career.

At Madrid, Mbappe would face stiff competition from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata for a starting spot whereas at Arsenal he’s been promised a starring role up front.

The last thing Mbappe needs is to join Madrid too soon and damage his development by sitting on the bench so you can appreciate why Arsenal appear confident they could pull off what would be a sensational coup.

This report from Football London comes shortly after a relative of Mbappe was quoted by the Mirror as telling Le Parisien that the French international would be keen to work under Wenger and playing in the Europa League wouldn’t be a problem.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days as I’m sure there will be plenty of twists and turns to this transfer saga but I would be ecstatic if Arsenal could somehow manage to get a deal agreed to sign Mbappe this summer.
