[Video & Photos] Rudiger Poses In Chelsea Shirt After Completing £34m Move

By on July 9, 2017

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Antonio Rudiger completes his move to Chelsea…

Centre-back Antonio Rudiger has been posing in his new kit after completing a £34m move to Chelsea from AS Roma this afternoon.

Antonio Conte has so far been frustrated with his attempts to sign any of his key targets this summer but the Blues boss has finally got his hands on a big-money signing.

Conte has been on the look out for a new defender to replace John Terry after the long-serving skipper joined Aston Villa and Rudiger emerged as a prime target in recent weeks.

The German international flew-in to London to undergo his medical today after Chelsea had agreed a deal with Roma that will see them pay up to £34m including various add ons [via Sky Sports News].

The formalities have now been completed as Chelsea have announced on Chelseafc.com that the defender has joined the club on a five-year deal and will wear the No.2 shirt next season.

After completing his move, Rudiger told the clubs website:

‘It’s a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this.

‘I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and I’m very proud to officially become a Chelsea player.’

The Blues also announced the signing on Twitter with a clever video:

Rudiger made his name in Germany with Stuttgart before earning a move to Roma in 2015 and he’s continued to develop in to one of the best centre-backs in Serie A over the past two years so I think he’ll be an excellent addition for Chelsea.

The 24-year-old becomes the Premier League champions second major signing this summer following the free transfer arrival of goalkeeper Willy Caballero from Manchester City.

The Chelsea fc board is full of dead woods who are long overdue to have been weeded out.
What do you expect where a woman and another womanlike persons head a slugish board?
Year in year out it’s the same story/ rumours till all the best player would have been bought by other clubs.

Today it’s Morata, tomorrow it’s Beloti, the day next you will hear it’s Lewandowski, another day it’s either Aubamayang or another player from the outer space.
Just watch and see how Bakayoko will slip through the fingers of these bunch of so called board. What is happening to Alex Sandro transfer till now just watch, these enemies of Abramovich are looking for the players they will sign for peanuts.
Remember players like pappy Jiboloji?, one Ghanian defender loaned to Chalke 04 and other numerous football playing nonentities. I can go on and on
