Player Pushing For Move As Man Utd Look To Sign £49m Attacker Before Tuesday

Manchester United remain hopeful of signing £49m-rated attacker Ivan Perisic but Inter Milan are ready to demand Anthony Martial be included in any deal

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Man Utd’s pursuit of Ivan Perisic…

Manchester United remain hopeful of signing £49m-rated attacker Ivan Perisic over the coming days but Inter Milan are ready to demand Anthony Martial be included in any deal, according to the Telegraph.

Jose Mourinho has already splashed out over £110m on centre-back Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku but the United boss has confirmed he’s hoping to add at least two more new players to his squad this summer.

A new versatile attacker appears to be on the agenda and Perisic has emerged as a prime target in recent weeks with widespread reports suggesting United have expressed their interest in signing the winger.

The Telegraph claim that Perisic is now pushing for a move to Old Trafford and Inter adviser Walter Sabatini has admitted they don’t want to keep the player against his will, despite their reluctance to let him go.

The newspaper says United are hoping to get a deal wrapped-up before Inter fly to China for their pre-season tour on Tuesday but are still struggling to agree a fee as the Italians are demanding £49m for Perisic’s signature.

Understandably, Inter are also concerned about how they’ll replace the Croatian international so the Telegraph suggest they are ready to ask for Martial to be included in any potential deal.

The Serie A giants are keen to take the French international on loan and Martial’s future at United has been in doubt as he failed to hold down a regular place in Mourinho’s first team last season.

However, the ‘Special One’ still sees Martial as an important part of his squad as he’s one of just three striking options available to him right now so United are expected to reject any proposal to include him in the Perisic deal.

It means United will have to agree a fee with Inter if they want to sign the 28-year-old but I think he’d be an excellent addition to their squad if the Red Devils could get a deal wrapped-up this summer.

Perisic scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists last season so he’d add some much needed creativity to United’s side while he can play anywhere across the attack and has the hard-working attitude Mourinho is looking for.
