Arsenal Given Green Light To Sign Key Attacking Target In £55m Deal

Monaco are ready to finally sell exciting attacker Thomas Lemar to Arsenal this summer but only if the Gunners meet their £55m valuation

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Monaco are ready to sell Thomas Lemar to Arsenal for £55m….

Monaco are ready to finally sell attacker Thomas Lemar to Arsenal this summer but only if the Gunners meet their £55m valuation, according to a report in the Daily Star.

Arsene Wenger has been chasing Lemar all summer as he looks to further strengthen the squad after missing out on Champions League football for the first time in 20 years.

The Daily Star claim the boss was initially hoping to land the 21-year-old for just £25m but has been forced to bid way beyond that figure because the French outfit have proven extremely difficult to deal with.

Monaco are determined not to see their squad ripped apart any further after already selling several of the team that stormed their way to the Ligue 1 title last season.

The newspaper says Arsenal were ready to test their resolve with a fresh £45m offer but it looks like we’ll have to go even higher if we want to land Lemar this summer.

The good news is Monaco are now ready to do a deal but the Daily Star claim they are demanding £55m and have made it clear the 21-year-old will stay if that valuation isn’t met.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Wenger is prepared to pay that kind of money but Lemar would be an excellent signing if we do end up bringing him to the Emirates this summer.

The French international has developed in to one of the most exciting attackers in Europe and played a key role in helping Monaco win the title last season having scored 14 goals and providing a further 17 assists.

We have the money available to meet Monaco’s asking price but Wenger can raise further funds by selling-off several of his fringe players so there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to get a deal agreed eventually.
