Liverpool Eye Audacious Move To Sign World Class South American Star

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Arturo Vidal….

It seems Jurgen Klopp has an ambitious target lined-up as the Express are carrying a report claiming Liverpool are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Klopp has already signed three news players during the transfer window with left-back Andrew Robertson, winger Mohamed Salah and striker Dominic Solanke all arriving so far this summer.

The Reds boss is keen to strengthen his options in midfield before the transfer window closes at the end of the month and Liverpool have been strongly linked with RB Leipzig star Naby Keita.

However, the German outfit have refused to do business so it looks as though the Merseysiders are looking at alternative targets and it seems Klopp has a very ambitious player in mind.

The Express are citing a report from World Football Index that claims Liverpool have turned their attention to Vidal and are plotting a shock swoop for the Bayern Munich star.

The newspaper says sources in his native Chile suggest the 30-year-old has been sounded out by Klopp about making a move to Anfield over the coming weeks.

Vidal has been one of the best midfielders in Europe for several years and after leading Juventus to several titles the South American has continued to impress since joining Bayern in 2015.

Obviously he’d be a superb signing for Liverpool if they could pull it off but it seems highly unlikely the Bundesliga champions would be willing to sell or that Vidal would want to leave for Merseyside so I’d be hugely surprised if anything came of these reports.

However, Klopp needs to get a midfielder in quickly as Adam Lallana has been ruled out for three months and Philippe Coutinho is being strongly linked with a move to Barcelona this summer.
