Manchester United kick off the new Premier League season when they entertain West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given ManUtd.com a team news and injury update.

United suffered with a lengthy injury list throughout last season but Mourinho was pleased to announce that his squad is in excellent shape heading in to the new campaign.

The Portuguese coach confirmed that the club have suffered no fresh injury concerns during pre-season so with the exception of those players already injured, he has a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Mourinho is quoted as telling the clubs website:

“Everyone is available except the injuries that everybody knows, so the injuries that come from the previous season with surgeries.

“[We have] one more reason to be happy because, in this pre-season, we didn’t lose any player. Every one of the 22, plus the goalkeepers, that started the pre-season is ready for Premier League match one.”

United have three remaining players on the treatment table with Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young all continuing their recoveries from serious injuries sustained last season.

Young has been out since the start of May with a hamstring injury, Shaw is continuing to recover from a foot problem while Rojo isn’t expected back until the end of the year after damaging knee ligaments in April.

However, Mourinho will welcome Eric Bailly and Phil Jones back in to the squad after they missed the Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid in midweek through suspension.

Fans will also be hoping to see summer signings Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic make their competitive debuts at Old Trafford this weekend.
