Arsenal Plot Attacker Bid After Opening Talks But Man Utd & Liverpool Also Keen

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal step-up their interest in Julian Draxler…

Arsenal are plotting a bid for Julian Draxler after holding talks with Paris Saint-Germain but they could yet face stiff competition from Manchester United and Liverpool, according to a report in the Express.

Draxler only joined PSG from Wolfsburg in January but his future at the Parc des Princes is already in serious doubt as the newspaper claims he’s been made available for transfer this summer.

The German international’s place has been taken by Neymar following his world record move from Barcelona while PSG are also favourites to sign Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Draxler was only used as a late substitute during Sunday night’s 6-2 win over Toulouse and he would fall even further down the pecking order if PSG managed to sign Mbappe so it’s no wonder he’s being tipped for a move.

The 23-year-old still managed to score 10 goals in his 25 appearances during the second half of last season and is considered as one of the best young attackers in Europe so it’s no surprise he’s attracting plenty of interest.

A move to England could be on the cards as the Express are citing a report from Transfermarketweb that claims Arsenal are plotting a formal offer after approaching PSG over Draxler’s availability.

Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of the German attackers and he may have renewed his interest after struggling to agree terms with Monaco over the signing of Thomas Lemar.

However, the Gunners could yet face stiff competition as the newspaper says Man Utd and Liverpool are also weighing-up bids for Draxler – although the Merseysiders interest has been played down by other media outlets.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see where Draxler ends up if he does leave PSG over the coming days but I think he’d be a superb signing for any of the English trio being linked and would love to see him plying in the Premier League this season.
