[Instagram] Gomez Sends Message To Fans As Liverpool Stars React To Sevilla Draw

Joe Gomez was among a number of Liverpool players to react on social media after the Reds drew 2-2 in their Champions League opener with Sevilla last night.

Liverpool slipped behind early on when Wissam Ben Yedder put Sevilla ahead in the 5th minute following an error from Dejan Lovren but the hosts were ahead before half-time thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

Firmino then spurned the perfect opportunity to make it 3-1 after missing a penalty and Sevilla made them pay after equalising with 20 minutes to go through Correa.

Gomez was then sent off for a second booking in the dying minutes as Liverpool pushed for a late winner and the young defender has now taken to Instagram to apologise if he let the team down but vowed to learn from the incident.

Skipper Jordan Henderson also posted a message on Instagram promising there is more to come from the Liverpool team after they let slip two vital points in their quest to qualify for the knockout stages.

Alberto Moreno, Loris Karius and Gini Wijnaldum also took to Twitter to thank the supporters for creating an amazing atmosphere at Anfield after the Reds made their return to the Champions League.

Check out what the players have been up to here:

Atmosphere inside Anfield amazing tonight. Sorry if I let the lads down with the second yellow late on… something to learn from personally. Thanks for your support…YNWA ?
