Liverpool get back to Premier League action after their exploits in the Champions League when they welcome Burnley to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update.

The Reds boss has confirmed an injury boost with the news that Adam Lallana is expected to step-up his rehabilitation with the midfielder set to resume running early next week.

Lallana has been on the sidelines since suffering a serious thigh injury during Liverpool’s pre-season clash with Atletico Madrid in August but he’s now edging his way back to full fitness.

Klopp also revealed that right-back Nathaniel Clyne is improving in his recovery from a back injury that’s kept him out of action so far this season.

However, the Reds boss couldn’t give a predicted time-scale over when the full-back will available again and warned that Clyne will need to undergo a pre-season routine when he does eventually return to training.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com:

“Adam and Clyney are too far away to think about. They have to build; maybe Adam can start running this week or the beginning of next week.

“Clyney is improving a lot but, in the moment when he could start training completely normal – I’m not sure about when it will be – he will need time for a kind of pre-season. “

Liverpool welcome Burnley to Anfield this weekend looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s hugely disappointing 5-0 defeat at Manchester City so Klopp will be desperate to get back on track with three points.
