Chelsea will look to put one foot in the knockout stages of the Champions League when they take on AS Roma at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Here is the side we think Antonio Conte will pick for the game:

Goalkeeper: Number one goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will once again start between the sticks with Willy Cabellero his back-up on the bench.

Defence: I don’t think we’ll see Conte make any changes to his preferred back three despite Saturday’s hugely disappointing 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.

David Luiz is therefore expected to marshall the defence once again with Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta alongside the Brazilian in the back three. Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger will have to make-do with places on the bench.

Midfield: Chelsea have problems in the middle of the park as N’Golo Kante is on the sidelines with a hamstring injury that he suffered while away with France during the international break.

Danny Drinkwater is also still unavailable due to a calf injury that’s hampered him since he joined the club in the summer so Conte has little option but to stick with Tiemoue Bakayoko alongside Cesc Fabregas – even though he may have preferred to play a midfield three.

Victor Moses has been ruled out with a hamstring injury that he picked up at the weekend so Davide Zappacosta is expected to get a recall in the right wing-back position while Marcos Alonso should once again start on the left.

Attack: Chelsea have been handed a major injury boost as Alvaro Morata is back in contention after making a swift recovery from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the Palace game.

Michy Batshuayi will therefore drop back to the bench after a frustrating afternoon at Selhurst Park but Eden Hazard should retain his place in the starting eleven.

Conte may decided to freshen things up in attack though with Pedro pushing for a recall which would see Willian dropping back to the bench.

Here is how we think Chelsea will line-up:
