Tottenham are facing something of an injury crisis with Mauricio Pochettino sweating over the fitness of eight player ahead of their trip to Arsenal.

Spurs striker Harry Kane withdrew from the England squad yesterday after being substituted during the north Londoners 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

Kane missed the defeat to Manchester United last weekend due to a hamstring injury but returned for the win over Real Madrid three days later and started against Palace at Wembley.

However, after taking a heavy kick to his ankle, Kane was substituted in the 70th minute and Mauricio Pochettino urged England boss Gareth Southgate to be cautious with the striker as he wasn’t fully fit.

Harry Winks met up with the England squad despite the midfielder also being taken off against Palace on Sunday after suffering an ankle during the first half, but Pochettino was confident it was just a minor issue.

However, it seems the injury is more serious than first thought as Winks, along with Kane, have withdrawn from the squad after being assessed by England’s medical team and they’ll now miss the upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

Dele Alli was the first Tottenham player to pull out of the national team squad after he missed the Palace game with a hamstring injury so Pochettino will be praying the England trio recover in time for the trip to Arsenal on November 18.

The Spurs boss is also sweating over the fitness of Hugo Lloris after he suffered a groin injury against Madrid and the goalkeeper is now facing a race against time to make the North London Derby.

Toby Aldwerweireld is another doubt for Tottenham as he was ruled out for ‘a few weeks’ after picking up a hamstring injury against Madrid while No.2 goalkeeper Michel Vorm also missed the Palace game with a knee injury.

Victor Wanyama is still recovering from a serious knee ligament injury and is a major doubt for the Arsenal game while Erik Lamela is still working his way back to full fitness following a year out with a hip injury.

It means Pochettino currently has eight members of his squad on the treatment table so the Spurs boss will be hoping several of his players are able to recover over the coming two weeks to put themselves in contention for the trip to the Emirates.
