Tottenham and Manchester United face a fight to keep hold of their star men after Real Madrid short-listed Harry Kane, Dele Alli and David De Gea as key transfer targets, according to a report in the Mirror.

Madrid have endured a disappointing campaign so far as they sit 10 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table while they also finished second behind Spurs in their Champions League group.

Uncharacteristically, Madrid have struggled to score goals in the league with Los Blancos managing just 22 goals so far – 11 less than Barca and even the likes of Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo have scored more.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema misfiring and Gareth Bale struggling with a number of injury problems it seems Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane are ready to overhaul the squad next summer.

The Mirror is citing a report from Diario Gol that claims Madrid chiefs have already drawn-up a short-list of transfer targets which includes Spurs duo Kane and Alli.

Kane has developed in to one of the best strikers in Europe over the past few years and he’s continued to enhance that reputation having scored 14 goals in his 16 games in all competitions for Tottenham so far this season.

The England international would certain add some firepower to the Madrid side and he’d be a long-term replacement for Benzema but it will take a huge figure to force Spurs in to a deal.

Alli has also continued to impress this season with 7 goals and 3 assists in his 15 games so far and the 21-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting young attackers in world football so it’s no surprise to hear Madrid are sniffing around.

United are also bracing themselves for another approach from Madrid for De Gea as the Spanish giants look to finally get their hands on the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

De Gea has been constantly linked with a move to the Bernabeu in recent transfer windows and it does seem like only a matter of time before he eventually moves back to his homeland.

The Spanish international is one of the best stoppers around and is an integral part of Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven so it would be a big blow to United if they do lose him.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but Madrid are going to need deep pockets if they want to sign the likes of Kane, Alli and De Gea next summer as none of them will come cheap.
