Chelsea Team News: Conte Confirms Injury Boost Ahead Of Liverpool Trip

Antonio Conte has confirmed a major injury boost with the news that Victor Moses is back in the squad for Chelsea’s trip to Liverpool

Chelsea will be hoping to continue their push for the top two when they take on Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.

The Blues head in to the game sitting third in the table and three points above Liverpool so fans could be tempted to back Chelsea at 5-2 to win at Anfield this weekend.

Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered a team news and injury update.

The Blues boss was pleased to confirm a huge boost with the news that Victor Moses is set to return to the squad this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Moses has missed Chelsea’s last eight matches in all competitions after sustaining the injury during the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park six weeks ago.

The Nigerian international returned to full training earlier this week and Conte says he will be back in the squad for the trip to Anfield on Saturday evening.

However, after so long on the sidelines, Conte has confirmed the 26-year-old won’t be risked from the start so Moses will be eased back in to action from the bench this weekend.

Conte told Chelseafc.com:

‘His [Moses] condition is good. For sure he needs a bit of time to recover the best form. Tomorrow he is in our squad. I think I want to put him on the bench, and then to decide if there is the necessity to bring him on or not.

‘I am very happy because now he is fine, but he needs a bit of time to find the best physical condition.’

Chelsea warmed up for the game with a comfortable 4-0 win over Qarabag in midweek which saw Eden Hazard score his third goal in his last two games to book the West Londoners place in the knockout stages.

Hazard also bagged a brace against West Brom last Saturday so Chelsea fans could be tempted to back the attacker to open the scoring at odds of 15/2 this weekend.
