[Photos] Man Utd Trio Recalled But Duo Left Out As 20-Man Squad Travels To Watford

By on November 27, 2017

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw have been left back in Manchester as the Man Utd squad travelled south ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Watford.

Mkhitaryan was left out of the squad for United’s Champions League defeat at Basel last week before playing the final 20 minutes against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

However, it looks like the Armenian international didn’t do enough during his cameo appearance to convince Jose Mourinho as the attacker has once again been left out of his plans for the Watford game.

Shaw has endured a torrid campaign as he’s struggled to force his way back in to Mourinho’s first team since recovering from injury and has played just 48 minutes of League Cup action so far this season.

The left-back is now considered fully fit but is still not any closer to being in Mourinho’s plans as he’s not been included in the squad that travelled to Watford this evening.

Marouane Fellaini was also not named in the 20-man travelling party, however, Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and Jesse Lingard were all spotted leaving for north London with the rest of the squad.

Darmian, Blind and Lingard were all left out of the squad against Brighton at the weekend but the trio will be in contention to return against high-flying Watford tomorrow night.

Here is the confirmed 20-man squad and some photos of the players leaving Stockport Station, courtesy of the Manchester Evening News:

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku

Have to beat Watford in order to “stay in touch” with Man City….anything less than a win would be considered a disaster…

Seeing how Mourino is selecting the teams I believe he is not the right man for manager of United. Mourino had more time than guardiola to see what was required for the team. Weak spots etc. Guardiola saw to his team and filled the week positions even trying out 3 goalies before finding the right one. Mourino did not do this and tried to fill his team with players he is never going to. Get.
The treatment of Shaw and now Mchitaryan goes back to the days of slave labour. Please allow him to go to PSG in the summer so Utd can get a lot better manager. He should stop playing players out of position. 2 wingers at full back midfielder as winger attacking midfielder now defending. The man is a moron

You are out of your senses. Do you really follow Manchester United? The two wingers you at referring to- young and Valencia started playing as wing backs during the time of Van Gaal and was due to injuries. Since then the settled well in those positions. Stop talking out of anger as if its José who played the two in those positions.

When will Mourino learn his lesson, he has 4 players in mind in the. Summer window. Bale, Greizman, Ozick and Rose. So is he going to play Fosu-Mensa at right back and McTiminay as holding midfielder. Now.he is trying to get Willian from Chelsea
The man should be strengthening all of his team not just forwards

i wanda wot’s wrong with mourinho, united has young talented players yet the manager is expecting to offload such and bring in over-aged players;grienzman, ozil. The worst of all, just as he did with rooney and darmian til they lost form,he has started with rushford, herrera;playing a player out of position

why keeping mourinho himself yet his demand is that much higher!let him go!united has so many young talented players he is planning to offlod while targeting overaged players like grienzman that would bring nothing to the club but competion for positions, the treatment of depay lays a huge blame on mourinho as he now shines at lyon, much worser luke shaw, blind, darmian and now henrikhe are slaves to worm benches and always on manager’s critic tone, neverthelex, juxt as he did widh rooney until he lost form,he has started with rushford and herrera always coming in as wing subtitute(mata);playing players out of position, let him go!

mouriho is confused he doesn’t know who to play between lingard and Mkhitaryan,i advice him to stop playing lingard because in full 90 minutes he can not make any good impart or a good contribution to me lingard is not good

Van Gaal played young and Valencia in wing back positions so the two settled well. Don’t talk out of anger as if José is the one who opted for that.

Mkhitaryan has been given time but has failed to impress this season especially in recent game and deserve to be dropped for Lingard. However Shaw is the one that need to be given time to.prove himself.
