Transfer News: Man Utd Ready To Sign £31m Midfielder | Spurs Eye £44m Attacker

By on December 7, 2017

The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Bryan Cristante and Spurs are eyeing Suso….

United ready to swoop for Cristante

First up and TeamTalk are carrying a report that claims Manchester United are ready to pay £31m to land Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante in January.

Jose Mourinho is on the look out for another central midfielder as he’s set to lose Marouane Fellaini with the Belgian international out of contract in June and yet to sign an extension.

The report says United will cash-in on Fellaini this winter rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season and Mourinho has seemingly identified Cristante as the man he wants to replace him.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Atalanta from Benfica and the Italians are expected to trigger a £10m option to make the move permanent after the midfielder impressed during the first six months.

However, TeamTalk are citing a report from O Jogo that claims United are ready to offer Atalanta the chance to turn an instant £21m profit by paying the players £31m release clause.

Cristante is predominantly a defensive midfielder who can also play further forward so he’d give Mourinho some good options in the middle of the park if he does get a deal agreed.

The Italian international could be open to the idea of moving to Old Trafford as Paul Pogba is one of his idols so he’d probably jump at the chance of playing alongside him at United.

Spurs eye Suso

Next up and TeamTalk are also reporting that Tottenham are ready to renew their interest in signing AC Milan attacker Suso in a deal that could be worth up to £44m.

Suso was once part of the Liverpool youth system but struggled to force his way in to the first team and eventually joined AC Milan back in the summer of 2015.

The 24-year-old has blossomed in Italy in to one of the most exciting young attackers in Europe and he’s already got 5 goals and 4 assists in his 14 appearances so far this season.

It seems Suso’s form is going to persuade Tottenham to renew their interest as TeamTalk is citing a report from Calciomercato that claims Spurs are ready to launch another move for the attacker.

The report says Tottenham failed with a £20m swoop for the Spain international last summer but are ready to try their luck again as Mauricio Pochettino tries to strengthen his talented young squad.

Milan may be tempted to cash-in this time as they could be in trouble with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, however, Suso won’t come cheap as the outlet claims he has a £44m buyout clause in his contract.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but I think Suso would be an excellent addition to the Tottenham squad if they could get a deal agreed.
