Liverpool will look to cement their position in the top four with a positive result when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on New Years Day.

Here is the side I think Jurgen Klopp will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: The Reds boss has confirmed that Simon Mignolet will be recalled in goal after being left out of the 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday afternoon. Loris Karius will therefore drop back to the bench.

Defence: Klopp is expected to rotate his right-back’s once again so Trent Alexander-Arnold should come back in to the side with Joe Gomez making way despite another excellent performance yesterday.

Andrew Robertson should continue at left-back as Alberto Moreno is still out with an ankle injury but Klopp might freshen things up in the middle of defence with Ragnar Klavan recalled to partner Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren given a rest.

Midfield: Klopp has confirmed he’ll make changes as Liverpool prepare to play their second game in just three days so Gini Wijnaldum is set for a recall in midfield after being named on the bench against the Foxes.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to come back in to the side with James Milner the man most likely to make way while Adam Lallana will also be hoping to feature tomorrow.

Jordan Henderson has been ruled out until the start of February after scans revealed a tear in his hamstring so Emre Can should continue in midfield.

Attack: Mohamed Salah limped off during the closing stages of Saturday’s win over Leicester so the Egyptian international is a major doubt for the trip to Turf Moor.

With so  little time to recover, I don’t think Klopp will risk his star man as the last thing the Reds want to do is rush him back only to aggravate the injury further. Therefore, we could see Philippe Coutinho move in to a more advanced wide role on the left with Sadio Mane starting on the right side of attack.

Klopp could be tempted to give Roberto Firmino a rest but with Daniel Sturridge struggling with a muscle injury he only really has Dominic Solanke to call upon and this would be a huge game to start him in.

Here is how we think Liverpool will line up:
