Liverpool Ready To Hijack £63m Deal To Sign Prolific 21-Goal Hitman

Liverpool are ready to hijack Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s £63.5m move to China after Jurgen Klopp set his sights on the Borussia Dortmund hitman

The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Liverpool are linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang…

Liverpool are ready to hijack Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s £63.5m move to China after Jurgen Klopp set his sights on the Borussia Dortmund hitman, according to a report in the Mirror.

Aubameyang has been one of the most prolific strikers in European football over the past few years having provided 141 goals and 36 assists in 212 games since joining Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013.

The 28-year-old has already netted 21 goals in his 23 appearances in all competitions this season while he’s also scored 23 in his 56 caps for Gabon so he certainly knows where the goal is.

Aubameyang has constantly been linked with a move away from the Westfalonstadion and reports in recent weeks have suggested that the striker is set to head to China with Guenghzou Evergrande and Beijing Guoan vying for his signature.

However, the Mirror are citing a report coming from LeSport10 that claims Liverpool are now ready to hijack the proposed £63.5m move after Klopp identified Aubameyang as a key target.

The Merseysiders look set to splash the cash following the £142m sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last week and it seems Klopp is hoping to add a new striker to his ranks.

The German coach worked with Aubameyang during their time together at Dortmund so it looks like the Liverpool boss is now hoping to be reunited at Anfield.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but I think Aubameyang would be a sensational signing for Liverpool if they could get a deal agreed.

The Gabon hitman would enhance what is already a devastating attack and Liverpool would have arguably the fastest front-line in world football if Aubameyang linked-up with the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at Anfield.
