Dortmund Chief Due In London To Finalise Arsenal’s £53m Signing Of Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is due to arrive in London on Saturday to finalise Arsenal’s £53m deal to sign Peirre-Emerick Aubameyang

The January transfer window is in full swing so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, the latest on Arsenal’s move for Aubameyang…

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is due to arrive in London on Saturday to finalise Arsenal’s £53m deal to sign Peirre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports in Germany.

Aubameyang has been lined-up by Arsene Wenger as the man to strengthen our attacking options with Alexis Sanchez set to join Man Utd and Theo Walcott already off to Everton.

The Gabon international is understood to be desperate to leave Dortmund after being slapped with his third internal suspension having been axed from the squad to face Wolfsburg last weekend.

Dortmund boss Peter Stoger then left the striker out of the squad to face Hertha Berlin tonight after admitting Aubameyang’s mind was elsewhere as speculation over a move to the Emirates continued to mount.

Wenger remained coy about his interest in the 28-year-old at his press conference yesterday but did say the striker would fit in well at Arsenal – which didn’t go down well in Germany.

Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on Thursday night that Aubameyang had agreed personal terms with Arsenal over a three-and-a-half-year contract worth around £8.8m per season ahead of a potential £53m move.

It seems the transfer is now edging closer to completion as reports coming from German outlet WA.de claim that Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc will fly to London on Saturday to finalise Aubameyang’s transfer to Arsenal.

So unless there are any late hiccups, it looks like we’re closing in on what would be a sensational signing as Aubameyang is one of the best strikers in the world right now.

The pacey forward has scored 21 goals in 23 games this term off the back of netting 40 last season so I think he’ll be a superb addition to the squad if we can get this proposed deal over the line.
