World Class Attacker To Snub Tottenham In Favour Of Joining Man Utd

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale will snub a return to Tottenham Hotspur as he favours a move to Manchester United this summer, according to reports

The January transfer window is coming to a close so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, the latest on Gareth Bale…

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale will snub a return to Tottenham Hotspur as he favours a move to Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Bale made his name at Spurs before joining Madrid in a then world-record deal in 2013 and he’s continued to forge a reputation as one of the best attackers in the world during his time in Spain.

The 28-year-old has provided 76 goals and 56 assists in his 167 appearances so far to help Madrid win a whole host of top honours including 3 Champions League trophies in the last four years.

However, Bale’s future at the Bernabeu is in serious doubt as Madrid are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with his constant injury problems over the past two seasons.

Bale was restricted to just 27 appearances in all competitions last campaign and has started just 7 La Liga games so far this season due to a variety of injuries problems and Madrid chiefs are reportedly tired of the amount of time he spends on the sidelines.

Speculation suggests Madrid are ready to cash-in on the Welsh international at the end of the season and Bale has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League with both United and Spurs touted as potential destinations.

The Daily Star claims that Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to use Bale as bait to try and land Harry Kane in a mega player-plus-cash swap deal at the end of the season.

However, the newspaper cites a report from Diario Gol that says Bale will snub an emotional return to north London as he favours a move to United in order to play under Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils were strongly linked with a move for Bale last summer but have been tipped to renew their interest despite the recent signing of Alexis Sanchez and it seems they may have more luck this time around.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming months but despite his injury problems, I still think Bale would be an excellent signing for United, or indeed Tottenham, if either club could get a deal agreed.
