Arsenal will be looking to get back to winning ways when we take on Everton at the Emirates on Saturday evening.

Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s provided the latest news and injury updates ahead of the game.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang making his debut this weekend after he completed a club record move from Borussia Dortmund on deadline day.

But we may have to wait a little longer to see the Gabon international in an Arsenal shirt as Wenger says the striker is a doubt to face Everton due to illness.

Midfielder Jack Wilshere is also facing a late fitness test at training today after missing the disappointing 3-1 defeat to Swansea on Tuesday night due to sickness.

Danny Welbeck had hoped to return this weekend after missing the last few games with a muscular problem but the boss has confirmed he isn’t ready to return just yet.

However, January signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to make his full debut as Wenger says the attacker will start tomorrow after making a late cameo off the bench in midweek.

The boss told Arsenal.com:

on the latest team news
We had Jack who was sick – I still have to assess him today. I hope he will be capable of being in the squad. He’s better. He’ll train with the team today and we’ll see how he feels.

on any other updates…
Aubameyang was sick as well so we have to assess him today. Apart from that, Welbeck is not completely back from injury. He’s not ready.

on whether they new signings are both in contention to start against Everton…
Certainly Mkhitaryan will start. That’s a possibility, yes. Aubameyang, I have to assess how well he feels.

Arsenal head in to the weekend action sitting eight points off fourth place following our defeat in Wales so it’s imperative we get back to winning ways tomorrow if we’re to retain any hope of finishing in the top four.
