Arsenal will be desperate to come away with a positive result to stay in the hunt for the top four when they take on Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday lunchtime.

Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s provided the latest team news and injury updates ahead of the game.

The Arsenal boss confirmed that Petr Cech remains a doubt for the game this weekend as the 35-year-old has been unable to train this week due to a calf problem.

Cech limped off to be replaced by David Ospina midway through the second half during the Gunners’ 5-1 win over Everton last weekend after falling awkwardly while claiming a routine high ball.

Reports earlier this week suggested the Czech international was facing a race against time to be fit for the North London Derby and Wenger says he will make a final decision over the goalkeeper tomorrow.

However, there was better news on Nacho Monreal as the full-back is expected to be fit to face Tottenham on Saturday after being withdrawn at half-time against Everton due to illness.

The final update was regarding Danny Welbeck and the striker could also be back in contention this weekend after missing the last four matches in all competitions with a niggling muscular injury.

Arsenal head in to the weekend action sitting four points behind Tottenham in sixth position in the table so they have to avoid defeat if they’re to retain hopes of climbing back in to the to four this season.
