Arsenal & Liverpool Ready To Battle-It-Out Over Deal To Sign Spanish Attacker

Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs ready to battle-it-out over the signing of Isco as Real Madrid prepare to cash-in on the attacking midfielder

The January transfer window in now closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Isco is tipped to leave Real Madrid this summer….

Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs ready to battle-it-out over the signing of Isco as Real Madrid prepare to cash-in on the attacking midfielder this summer, according to reports in Spain via the Express.

Isco made his name during spells at Valencia and Malaga before earning a dream move to Madrid in 2013 and he’s played his part in helping the Spanish giants win a whole host of honours including 1 La Liga title and 3 Champions Leagues.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a solid campaign having scored 5 goals and provided a further 4 assists in 18 league games despite Madrid enduring a difficult season that sees them trail Barcelona by 19 points.

The pressure is on Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to revamp his failing squad this summer and it seems Isco could be one of those players who’ll be sacrificed.

The Express are citing a report from Spanish outlet AS that claims Madrid are ready to cash-in on Isco at the end of the season and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.

Understandably there will be no shortage of interest if Isco becomes available but the report says Arsenal and Liverpool will be among the clubs vying for his signature this summer.

Arsene Wenger rejuvenated his attacking options in January with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan arriving to replace Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez.

However, the Arsenal boss is yet to find a replacement for Theo Walcott while he also needs to add more creative talents to his midfield as Santi Cazorla’s career is in doubt due to injury while Jack Wilshere is yet to sign a new deal.

The Gunners could therefore be eyeing Isco but they’ll reportedly face competition from Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his squad following Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona.

Klopp opted against dipping in to the market for an attacker last month but he’ll almost certainly sign at least one new attacking midfielder this summer and is seems Isco is on his radar.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming months but I think Isco would be a sensational signing for Arsenal or Liverpool if either club was lucky enough to win the race for his signature.
