4-3-2-1: Mourinho To Make 3 Changes | Expected Man Utd XI vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United will be looking to move back up to second spot in the table when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Here is the team I think Jose Mourinho will pick for the game:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea is certain to keep his place between the sticks as he’s arguably United’s most important player.

Defence: Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have once again been ruled out after failing to recover from their injuries while Daley Blind is also still unavailable for selection with an ankle injury.

However, Eric Bailly is pushing for a recall to the starting eleven and Mourinho may be tempted to start the Ivory coast international alongside Chris Smalling in the middle of defence. Victor Lindelof would be the man to make way.

Antonio Valencia should retain his place at right-back but Luke Shaw could be handed a recall on the opposite flank with Ashley Young given a rest.

Midfield: Paul Pogba was recalled to the side for the 2-1 victory over Chelsea last week after being dropped for the previous two games and the Frenchman looked more comfortable in a midfield three.

I think we could see Mourinho stick with the same line-up in the middle of the park with Nemanja Matic once again in the holding role and the ever-impressive Scott McTominay continuing alongside Pogba.

Ander Herrera has been ruled out for a number of weeks after aggravating a hamstring injury and he’s no closer to making his comeback.

Attack: Jesse Lingard came off the bench to score the winner last weekend so the England international is likely to get a recall tomorrow night with Anthony Martial the man to drop out.

Marcus Rashford has seen little game time since the turn of the year but he may have to make do with a place on the bench once again as Alexis Sanchez should keep his place on the left side of attack.

No doubt Romelu Lukaku will once again lead the line up front and he’ll be hoping to get himself on the score-sheet again after netting against former club Chelsea last week while Juan Mata is expected to remain on the bench.
