Chelsea Ready To Steal March On Man Utd With Bid For Unsettled £89m Star

Chelsea are ready to steal a march on Manchester United by tabling an offer for Isco with the midfielder threatening to quit Real Madrid this summer

The transfer window is closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Isco is ready to quit Real Madrid

Chelsea are ready to steal a march on Manchester United by tabling an offer for Isco with the midfielder threatening to quit Real Madrid this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Isco has been one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe in recent years and helped Madrid win a whole host of top honours including 1 La Liga title and 3 Champions Leagues since joining the club from Malaga in 2013.

However, the Spanish international has struggled to find his best form on a consistent basis this season as he’s been in and out of Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven throughout a difficult campaign.

It seems Isco is growing increasingly frustrated at the Bernabeu and TeamTalk are citing a report from Don Balon that claims the player had threatened to quit if he didn’t start against Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

That ultimatum didn’t work as Isco was left on the bench for Madrid’s Champions League tie this evening with Marco Asensio preferred in attack and it seems his situation has alerted clubs here in England.

The report claims that Chelsea and Manchester United have both been showing a keen interest in signing Isco this summer but the Blues are now ready to steal a march on their rivals.

TeamTalk say that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been persuaded to launch a move for the 25-year-old midfielder with a fee of around £89m mentioned in the report.

Antonio Conte’s position as Chelsea manager is in serious doubt but even if a new boss comes in this summer, he’d no doubt love to have a player of Isco’s quality at his disposal.

However, I wouldn’t discount United from the running just yet as they have the financial firepower to compete with Chelsea and Jose Mourinho will do all he can to beat his former club to Isco’s signature.
