[Video Goals] Chelsea 2-1 Crystal Palace: Willian On Target As Blues Close-In On Top 4

By on March 10, 2018

Chelsea closed in on the top four of the Premier League table with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues opened the scoring midway through the first half as Willian cut in from the left wing and fired in to the bottom corner from the edge of the area via a deflection in the 25th minute.

It didn’t take long for Chelsea to doubled their advantage as a well worked move led to Davide Zappacosta’s effort being bundled in to his own net by Palace defender Martin Kelly in the 32nd minute.

The visitors pulled one back late on as Patrick van Aanholt slotted under Thibaut Courtois to make it 2-1 in the 90th minute following some good work from Wilfried Zaha.

However, there wasn’t enough time to salvage an equaliser so Chelsea held on to secure a 2-1 victory that sees them move to within just two points of fourth-placed Tottenham ahead of their trip to Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon.
