The transfer window is closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Allan….

Arsenal are eyeing a summer swoop for Napoli midfielder Allan as Arsene Wenger looks to revamp his squad at the end of the season, according to a report in the Mirror.

It’s been a difficult campaign at the Emirates but despite growing calls for Wenger to walk away at the end of the season it looks like the boss is still pushing ahead with his summer plans.

A new central midfielder is needed as Jack Wilshere is yet to sign a new deal while Granit Xhaka has struggled to live up to expectations following his big-money move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.

We desperately need a reliable holding midfielder and it looks like Allan has emerged as a target as the Mirror claim that Arsenal are ready to join the race to sign the Napoli star this summer.

Allan has proven to be an excellent signing for the Serie A outfit since joining from Udinese in 2015 and he’s played a key role in helping Maurizio Sarri’s side challenge Juventus for the title this season.

The 27-year-old has been virtually ever-present at the heart of the Napoli midfield having made 40 appearances in all competitions this campaign and he’s provided 4 goals and 4 assists so far.

His impressive form has caught the attention of several top European clubs and the Mirror are citing reports from Calcio Mercato that claim Arsenal have now registered their interest in signing the Brazilian star.

We’re likely to face stiff competition for his signature but Allan would be an excellent signing if we could manage to lure him to north London this summer as he’d be an upgrade on the likes of Xhaka or Mohamed Elneny.
