Arsenal slumped to yet another away defeat as Newcastle came from behind to emerge as 2-1 victors at St James’ Park this afternoon.

Arsenal started brightly and opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang found Alexandre Lacazette with a superb cross and the Frenchman volleyed home for 0-1.

However, Newcastle levelled things up in the 29th minute as Ayoze Perez got in front of Shkodran Mustafi to sweep home DeAndre Yedlin’s cross to beat Petr Cech at his near post.

We were dominating the ball in the second half but struggled to create many clear-cut opportunities and predictably Newcastle went up the other end to make it 2-1 with Matt Ritchie firing home in the 68th minute following sloppy defending.

We couldn’t find a way back so slump to another away defeat that leaves us sixth in the table and six points adrift of Chelsea.
