Agent Speaks Out Amid Reports Client Has Agreed £80m Move To Man Utd

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent insists the Lazio midfielder will decide his future after this weekend amid reports of an £80m move to Manchester United

The summer transfer window is about to open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic…

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent insists the Lazio midfielder will decide his future after this weekend amid reports of an £80m move to Manchester United, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Milinkovic-Savic has become one of the most in-demand young players in Europe after scoring 14 goals and providing a further 9 assists for his team mates to help Lazio push for a top four finish this season.

The 23-year-old’s impressive form has caught the attention of Man Utd with widespread reports in recent weeks suggesting Jose Mourinho has made Milinkovic-Savic as prime summer transfer target.

Mourinho is in the market for at least one central midfielder as Michael Carrick is retiring while Marouane Fellaini could be set to leave on a free transfer after failing to agree terms over a new contract.

It looked like United were closing-in on a big-money deal to sign Milinkovic-Savic as the Sun reported recently that the Red Devils had agreed an £80m deal with Lazio to land the talented youngster.

However, the players agent – former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman – insists his client wont make a decision on his future before the end of the season with Lazio facing a decisive clash against fifth-placed Inter Milan on Sunday.

Kezman is quoted by TeamTalk as saying:

“The interest in Sergej is enormous, but on Sunday Lazio will have to play the most important game of all and it makes no sense to talk about a transfer.

“Until the end of the season it is concentrated exclusively on Lazio.”

Lazio head into the final game of the season sitting three points above Inter so they just need to avoid defeat to secure qualification to the Champions League next season.

However, an Inter victory would see them snatch fourth place as they’d have the better head-to-head record having drawn the reverse clash 0-0 at the San Siro earlier in the season.

So it looks like we’ll have to wait until after this weekend before we’ll know of any developments on Milinkovic-Savic’s proposed move to United but he’d be a superb signing if they could get a deal wrapped-up.
