The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea have agreed to sign Daniele Rugani…

Chelsea have agreed a £35m deal to sign Daniele Rugani with the Juventus centre-back set to sign a long-term contract worth £70,000-a-week, according to reports via talkSPORT.

The Blues are reportedly on the verge of appointing Maurizio Sarri as their new manager with the former Napoli coach expected to replace Antonio Conte once a suitable compensation package is agreed with the Italian tactician – who’s won the Premier League and FA Cup during his two years at the club.

Despite not officially being in the Stamford Bridge hot-seat, it seems Sarri is already working on his transfer plans as the Evening Standard reported recently that the 59-year-old has earmarked Rugani as a key target and has instructed Chelsea bosses to open talks over a deal.

It appears the Blues have been successful as talkSPORT are citing a report from Premier Sport that claims Chelsea have now agreed a £35m fee with Juventus following lengthy negotiations between the two clubs.

The report says personal terms have also been agreed with Rugani and the centre-back is set to sign a long-term contract worth around £70,000-a-week once his move to west London is confirmed.

The 23-year-old joined Juve as a teenager and was considered to be one of the most exciting young defenders in Italian football but he was forced out on loan to Empoli between 2013-2015 after struggling to break in to the first team set-up.

Rugani has continued to struggle for first team football over the past three years and he started less than half of Juve’s matches last season leading to speculation he could look for a move this summer.

It seems he’s been offered a fresh start at Chelsea and Sarri could be eyeing the Italian international as a potential replacement for David Luiz with the Brazilian star tipped for a move after falling out of favour last season.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop as the proposed Rugani deal isn’t likely to be announced until the managerial situation is resolved so Chelsea need to get things agreed with Conte so Sarri can get his transfer business conducted well ahead of the new campaign.
