Attacker Ready To Snub Proposed £37m Man Utd Move In Order To Join Tottenham

Manchester United look set to miss out on Hirving Lozano as the attacker will snub a proposed £37m move to Old Trafford in favour of joining Tottenham

Manchester United look set to miss out on Hirving Lozano as the attacker will snub a proposed £37m move to Old Trafford in favour of joining Tottenham, according to reports in Spain via TeamTalk.

Lozano came through the youth ranks in his homeland at Mexican side Pachuca before joining PSV Eindhoven for £7m last summer and he enjoyed a superb debut season in Europe after scoring 19 goals and setting up a further 11 for his team-mates in just 34 appearances to help land the Eredivisie title.

The 22-year-old carried on his excellent form in to the World Cup where he starred for Mexico to help them reach the last-16 before they were beaten by Brazil but his impressive displays in Russia have seemingly caught the eye of clubs throughout Europe.

A more to the Premier League looked to be on the cards as TeamTalk reported last week that Manchester United had agreed a £37m deal with PSV to sign Lozano after Jose Mourinho identified the winger as a prime summer transfer target.

Mourinho has already signed three new faces with a goalkeeper, right back and midfielder all arriving in recent weeks but United need to further strengthen and Lozano could be viewed as a potential replacement for Anthony Martial amid speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

However, it looks like United could miss out on Lozano’s signature as TeamTalk are now citing a report from Don Balon that claims it’s Tottenham who are in the driving seat to sign the attacker.

Mauricio Pochettino tottenham

The Spanish publication says that despite enquiries from United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, Lozano is keen on Spurs as he wants to join a club where he’s likely to play more regular first team football.

Mauricio Pochettino has been quiet in the market so far this summer but he’s expected to pick things up over the coming weeks and it would be something of a coup if Tottenham were able to land Lozano.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the next few days as I’m sure the likes of United won’t give up without a fight but Lozano would be an exciting signing for whoever ends up buying him this summer.
