Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Utd Battling To Sign £50m World Cup Star – Transfer Talk

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs battling to sign £50m-rated Rennes attacker Ismaila Sarr following his impressive World Cup

The summer transfer window is in full swing and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd are battling to sign Ismaila Sarr…

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs battling to sign £50m-rated Rennes attacker Ismaila Sarr following his impressive World Cup, according to reports via the Mirror.

Sarr came through the youth ranks at Generation Foot in his native Senegal and enjoyed a year at Metz before being snapped-up by Rennes last summer. The youngster had a solid first season at Roazhon Park having provided 5 goals and 5 assists in 24 appearances to help Rennes secure fifth place in the Ligue 1 table.

The 20-year-old’s form earned him a place in the Senegal World Cup squad and caught the eye with some excellent performances in Russia as they narrowly missed out on qualification to the knockout stages to Japan in Group H.

Sarr’s potential has attracted interest from top Premier League clubs with the Sun, via the Mirror, claiming that Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have expressed their interest along with European giants Barcelona and Juventus.

The newspaper says the heavy-weights are all battling it out over Sarr’s signature but they will have to be prepared to dig deep as Rennes are supposedly demanding around £50m for the highly-rated attacker this summer.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has focussed his attention on strengthening their defence so far during the window but he’s expected to dip in to the market for a wide attacker and Sarr is seemingly on the north Londoners radar.

Liverpool have already snapped-up winger Xhedran Shaqiri but Jurgen Klopp is still hoping to further strengthen his options ahead of the new season and Sarr would provide depth behind the likes of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah if he made a move to Anfield.

However, Man Utd are also in the running for his signature and Jose Mourinho could be lining-up the Senegalese sensation as a potential replacement for Anthony Martial amid speculation surrounding his future.

Sarr is predominantly a left winger but is capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions including up front so his versatility would be a useful asset for Arsenal, Liverpool or Man Utd if any of those clubs were able to get a deal agreed this summer.
