Man Utd Boss ‘Confident’ Of Securing Signing As Chiefs Push For £44m Attacker

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is confident of signing one more player with his scouting team urging him to push ahead with a deal for Ante Rebic

There is plenty of Manchester United gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the English giants linked with a whole host of star names. Today, Jose Mourinho is confident of securing one signing as his bosses push Ante Rebic deal…

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is confident of signing one more player this summer with his scouting team urging him to push ahead with a deal for Ante Rebic, according to various reports.

Mourinho has made no secret of his frustration with United’s transfer activity so far this summer as although the Manchester giants have splashed out on Brazilian midfielder Fred, the only other new additions are third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant and young full-back Diogo Dalot.

Man Utd continue to be linked with a whole host of names in the media and Mourinho admitted after their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool last weekend that he’d ideally like to bring in two more players before the window slams shut on August 9th.

The Portuguese coach has now said he’s ‘confident’ United will secure one more signing over the coming days but he doesn’t think the club will be able to deliver the second signing he craves.

The United boss is quoted by Sky Sports as saying:

“I am confident I will get one, but I think two I am not going to get – which is not a drama.

“In every pre-season it happens the same, with every club, which is that the manager wants more.

“It’s our nature, you always want more for your team, but then club decisions are different and normally you don’t get what you want, which happened during all my career.

“So, if I get one player until the end of the market, that’s fine.”

A new attacker is believed to be on the agenda amid on-going speculation surrounding the future of Anthony Martial and United have been linked with the likes of Ivan Perisic, Gareth Bale and Willian in recent weeks.

However, the Mirror cites a report from the Times that claims Manchester United scouts are urging Mourinho to switch his attention to pushing ahead with a move for Ante Rebic instead.

The 24-year-old starred for Croatia at the World Cup as they reached their first ever final and impressed during a two-year loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt before making the move permanent this summer.

However, the German outfit could cash-in to turn a quick profit with the Mirror reporting recently that Frankfurt will do business if United put £44m on the table – which is a lot less than the likes of Willian or Bale would cost.

We’ll have to wait and see who United end up buying but I expect it’s going to be a busy final few days of the transfer window at Old Trafford as Mourinho looks to put the finishing touches to his squad.
