Man Utd Offer South American Star £6m-A-Year Deal After Tabling £35m Bid

Manchester United have tabled a £35m bid for Yerry Mina and offered the Barcelona defender a deal worth £6m-per-season to move to Old Trafford

There is plenty of Manchester United gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the English giants linked with a whole host of star names ahead of deadline day. Today, United have made their move for Yerry Mina…

Manchester United have tabled a £35m bid for Yerry Mina and offered the Barcelona defender a deal worth £6m-per-season to move to Old Trafford, according to the Sun.

Jose Mourinho has made no secret of his frustration at United’s lack of activity this summer as Fred is the only significant addition to the first team as Lee Grant has come in as a third-choice goalkeeper while Diogo Dalot is a teenage full-back who’s considered as a player for the future.

The Man Utd boss is keen to sign two more players before the window slams shut on Thursday and a new central defender is a priority as Marcos Rojo is expected to leave amid links with Everton while doubts persist over Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Phil Jones.

United have struggled to agree terms for the likes of Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld in recent weeks so Mina has emerged as a potential target having struggled to establish himself at Barcelona following his move from Palmeiras in January.

The likes of Everton and Lyon have been strongly linked with Mina but the Sun claims the Colombian international expected to sign for Man Utd over the weekend after they had submitted a £35m bid for his signature.

A problem during talks with his agent held up the deal but the newspaper says United have now made one last attempt to get terms agreed after offering the South American defender a five-year contract worth £6m-per-season.

The Sun says Manchester United have also promised Mina the chance to be a regular in Mourinho’s starting eleven but they want a quick decision from the player as they’ll need to move on other targets if a deal can’t be agreed.

It’s difficult to know how much truth there is behind this report as there is so much speculation flying around right now but Mina seems to be a key target for United so we could see a deal wrapped-up before Thursday’s deadline.
